OHCC improves HR and telecomm needs to provide appropriate health facilities for patients

One Hospital Command Center (OHCC) was officially inaugurated as the National Patient Navigation and Referral Center (NPNRC) in Pasay City on Monday (July 12).

According to the Department of Health (DOH) Undersecretary Leopoldo Vega, more than 100 individuals will be able to respond to the needs of patients during COVID-19 pandemic who are in need of health facilities.

“Mayroon na kaming tama at wastong telecommunication gadget that can easily connect with the different hospitals, at saka mga treatment at monitoring facility. Na-improve namin ‘yung human resource and telecommunications,” Vega said during OHCC’s inauguration at the Philippine International Convention Center.

OHCC is set to provide a link to patients and different health facilities to ensure that appropriate medical response is given to individuals in need.

Earlier in June, the House committee on health chairperson and Quezon Representative Angelina Tan filed a bill seeking to strengthen OHCC to ensure financial risk protection, particularly for indigent and financially incapacitated patients. – Report from Rod Lagusad / CF – rir
