Oil spill hits Naga, Cebu

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) on Sunday, Sept. 3, responded to an oil spill caused by a sunken motor tugboat in Naga, Cebu.

PCG said MTug Sugbo 2 caused the oil spill in the vicinity waters off Naga Anchorage.

To prevent the oil spill from spreading, PCG deployed oil spill boom, absorbent pads, and absorbent boom.

Based on the initial investigation, the tugboat submerged due to unfavorable sea conditions. – cf
