Olay is new PNP Spox

Police General Debold M Sinas, Chief of the Philippine National Police has named Police Brigadier General Ronaldo E Olay to one of his Personal Staff as PNP Spokesperson and Chief of the PNP Public Information Office. Olay replaced retiring Police Brigadier General Ildebrandi N Usana to the post.

Olay, a member of the illustrious Philippine Military Academy “Bigkis-Lahi” Class 1990, was erstwhile PNP Deputy Director for Operations and NCRPO Deputy Regional Director for Administration (DRDA). He briefly served as Director of the PNP Health Service and Deputy Director for Comptrollership in 2020.

He commanded the Cagayan Police Provincial Office as Provincial Director in 2014-2016 after a series of field assignments as Director of the Provincial Mobile Force Battalion of Batangas; CIDG District Office in Eastern Metro Manila, and as assistant Chief of the CIDG Anti-Fraud and Commercial Crimes Division (AFCCD). Olay also served the PNP Maritime Group and Headquarters Support Service in various capacities.

He received formal training intelligence and comptrollership in the PNP; Maritime Law Enforcement in Malaysia; Supervisory Criminal Investigation Course in Thailand; and commercial crimes investigation in Singapore and the US Embassy in Manila. (PNP-PIO)
