The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) launched “Oplan Biyaheng Ayos: Semana Santa & Summer Vacation 2023″ to ensure travel safety during Holy Week.
According to LTFRB Chairperson Teofilo Guadiz III, public utility drivers (PUV) and conductors will be inspected to check if they are under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs.
Enforcers will also be on the lookout for colorum public utility buses (PUB).
The LTFRB also released Special Permits for 743 units of PUBs to sustain the huge influx of passengers.
“That is why we are doing everything to make sure that passengers are provided the public transport service they deserve so that their travel experience after a long period of zero travel will be truly worth it,” Guadiz stated.
LTFRB issues Special Permits every year during long holidays to provide additional transportation for commuters.
Meanwhile, travelers are still reminded to observe public health safety protocols as the country is still under a national public health emergency. – gb
