OPS joins nation on Nat’l Press Freedom Day 

Press Secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles on Tuesday, Aug. 30, joined the country in celebrating National Press Freedom Day.

In a statement, Cruz-Angeles said the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. honors and respects press freedom in the country.

“Kinikilala at nirerespeto ng ating pamahalaan, sa ilalim ng pamumuno  ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., ang press freedom sa bansa na nakabatay sa ating Saligang batas o Konstitusyon,” she said.

The National Press Freedom Day was declared and legislated under the administration of former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte to recognize press freedom and to honor the life and works of a national hero, the Father of Philippine Journalism Marcelo H. del Pilar. -KC/ag
