Over 12-K COVID-19 cases recorded from May 15-21

The Department of Health (DOH) reported 12,426 COVID-19 cases from May 15 to 21, higher by 0.1% than the cases reported from May 8 to 14.

The average daily reported cases was 1,775.

A total of 87 severe and critical COVID-19 cases were also reported, while 13 deaths were verified.

“Of the 13 deaths, 2 occurred in May 2023, 5 in April 2023, 2 in March 2023, 1 in September 2022, 2 in August 2022, and 1 in June 2022,” the DOH noted.

As of May 21, there are 486 severe and critical COVID-19 patients admitted in hospitals.

The occupancy of 2,134 intensive care units (ICU) is at 18.2%, while the occupancy rate of the 18,321 COVID-19 non-ICU beds is at 23%.

The DOH advised the public to continue adhering to minimum public health standards under Alert Level 1. AG – gb
