Over 300 modern PUVs resume operations on Monday

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque stated that more than 300 modern public utility vehicles (PUVs) resumed operations on Monday in different routes in Metro Manila for the Phase 2 roll out of public transportation.

Secretary Roque ensured that the resumption underwent thorough evaluation. However, precautions must still be observed.

He also confirmed that UV Express units will be allowed on the road this month but the date is yet to be announced.

In terms of back riding, Sec. Roque explained that back riding for private motorcycles is still subject to health and safety protocols and will undergo a certain process.

The Presidential Spokesperson reiterated that there is an observed hierarchy in public transportation. If the PUVs currently allowed are not enough, traditional jeepneys will be tapped. – Report from Mela Lesmoras
