Over 50 Balik Probinsya beneficiaries test negative for COVID-19

Over 50 beneficiaries of the Balik Probinsya, Bagong Pag-asa Program have tested negative for COVID-19 and will be able to go home today, Dec. 7.

After going through the documentation, orientation, and swab testing, 24 beneficiaries from Iloilo, 11 from Ilocos Sur, and 19 from La Union have all tested negative in the RT-PCR test.

Those who will be going home to Ilocos and La Union will travel by two buses while those going home to Iloilo will get there via a commercial flight.

They will be given travel allowance by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

Once they arrive in their provincial homes, DSWD will be giving each family or individual cash assistance, while the Department of Labor and Employment will be offering jobs.

They may also avail of a Pangkabuhayan Package from the Department of Trade and Industry or Department of Agriculture. There will also be help coming from the National Housing Authority. – Report from Louisa Erispe/PG – bny
