Over 92,000 dengue cases recorded in PH; 118% higher than 2021

The Department of Health (DOH) on Tuesday, Aug. 8, said it has already recorded over 92,000 dengue cases as of July 23.

A total of 92,343 dengue cases were reported from January 1 to July 23, 118% higher compared to the logged cases during the same period in 2021, with 42,294.

Most dengue cases were recorded from Region III (15,951), Region VII (9,429), and National Capital Region (NCR) (7,962).

Meanwhile, nine of 17 regions exceeded the epidemic threshold in the past four weeks, with Mimaropa and NCR showing a “sustained increasing trend” from June 26 to July 23.

DOH also reported 344 deaths. – ngs
