OWWA needs P2.5-B for repatriation of 45,000 OFWs

The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) needs PhP 2.5 billion to repatriate 45,000 Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs).

According to OWWA Chief Hans Cacdac, they are also asking for help from Congress to look for funds intended for the OFWs who could not leave due to the Enhanced Community Quarantine.

Based on the data of OWWA, 25, 000 OFWs are scheduled to arrive in the country in the next few days and another 25, 000 OFWs will arrive in the month of June. The fund will be used for the accommodation, transportation, and other necessities of the repatriated OFWs. – PTV News
