P1.2-M reward up for info on killers of NE guv aide

PALAYAN CITY, Nueva Ecija — Governor Czarina Umali on Thursday offered a PHP1-million reward in exchange for any information that will lead to the resolution of the killing of her secretary, May Anne Guevarra-Hernandez.

The money would come from the governor’s personal fund, a capitol official said.

Earlier, Mayor Nerivi Santos-Martinez of Talavera town offered PHP200,000 for the same purpose.

Hernandez, 38, a resident of Barangay Pag-asa, Talavera, was killed by unidentified armed men early Sunday evening. Her husband, Carlito, was wounded in the gun attack.

Umali said they would see to it that justice would be served to Hernandez whom she described as like a family member.

“We will not stop until justice is served for such gruesome violence,” the governor said.

Senior Superintendent Eliseo Tanding, Nueva Ecija police director, said they were looking into all possible angles and culprits behind the killing.  (Marilyn Galang/PNA)
