SAN JOSE DE BUENAVISTA, Antique — The construction of the PHP10-million Antique Tourism Office will start next week.

Antique provincial tourism officer Jose Ramlo Villaluna said that no less than Governor Rhodora J. Cadiao attended the pre-construction meeting with personnel of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and the contractor, which was held at the Sumakwel Hall of the provincial capitol here Tuesday.

“The two-storey provincial tourism office will be constructed by Juantong Construction that won the bidding,” Villaluna said.

The tourism office will be constructed next to the new capitol building where a native souvenir shop used to stand.

“Funding for this office is now ready with the donation of Buhay Partylist Congressman Lito Atienza,” Villaluna said.

The ground floor of the building will serve as a showroom of various products by micro, small and medium entrepreneurs in the province, which is being supported by the Buhay Partylist.

“Hopefully, the building could be finished just before the Binirayan Festival this December so that it could be inaugurated by then,” Villaluna said. (Annabel Consuelo Petinglay/PNA)
