P13B worth of illegal drugs destroyed in Cavite

The Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) led the destruction of illegal drugs worth more than Php 13 billion in Cavite on Friday.

Almost 2 million grams or 20,000 kilograms of Shabu were destroyed along with other confiscated illegal drugs such as Marijuana, Cocaine and Ecstasy. The destroyed drugs are worth Php 13,359,157,093. This is the largest drug destruction under the administration of President Rodrigo R. Duterte. Around Php 41 billion worth of drugs have been burned since July 2016.

The PNP belied a report that it has been tolerating drug cases within the institution and drug cases are not being dismissed. It pointed out that investigations are conducted and a lot of people have been dismissed from the service after being found guilty.”

Meanwhile, the PDEA reported there are no longer big drug laboratories monitored operating in the Philippines. Majority of the confiscated drugs are from other countries. Drug enforcers are also focusing on decreasing the demand for drugs.
