P15-M worth of misdeclared products seized in NAIA

The Bureau of Customs (BOC) has seized Php 15 million worth of misdeclared products at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).

The high-end brands of bags, shoes and jewelry were declared as canned goods, chocolates and toiletries.

According to the BOC, the 17 boxes containing the products were from Milano, Italy. Authorities have stated that it is possible that the consignee is trying to evade the proper tax amount of the products since balikbayan boxes were used.

The BOC will conduct an investigation to charge the involved individuals with violating the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act.
