MALAYBALAY CITY, Bukidnon — Authorities have recovered 17 sachets of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride or “shabu” with an estimated market value of PHP204,000 from a village councilman in Purok 2, Barangay 9 here, police said Friday.

Members of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) 10 (Northern Mindanao), together with the Provincial Drug Enforcement Group and Malaybalay City Police, raided the house of Barangay Kagawad Mandangan P. Ali at about 4:17 a.m. on Thursday.

Seized from Ali’s possession were 30 grams of a white crystalline substance suspected to be “shabu” in heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets, a Caliber 45 pistol, M4 rifle and various ammunitions, police said.
