MANILA — Police authorities seized PHP47 million worth of shabu in a raid in San Andres Bukid, Manila early Thursday.

In a press briefing in Camp Crame, Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Oscar Albayalde and National Capital Regional Police Office (NCRPO) director Chief Supt. Guillermo Eleazar said the operation led to the arrest of suspect Joshir Bernardo aka ‘JS’, who operates in behalf of a drug lord who is already behind bars.

Bernardo was arrested around 4 a.m. in a raid by joint elements of the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit of the Manila Police District.

The operation at Barangay 779, Zone 57 in San Andres Bukid resulted in the seizure of seven kilos of suspected shabu in plastic packs.

Also seized from the suspect were a Samsung cellular phone and a gray Nissan Cefiro with plate number XSA 507.

Albayalde said Bernardo is associated with the group of suspected drug lord Loloy Hernandez, who is detained at the Taguig City Jail.

The group operates in Manila and the Calabarzon (Calamba, Laguna, Batangas and Quezon) region, Albayalde said. (PNA)
