A P59.4-million cultural and sports center will soon rise in Roxas City, Capiz, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said.

DPWH Capiz 1st District Engineering Office will oversee the ongoing construction of the Capiz Cultural Sports Center which will be located at the Villareal Stadium in Roxas City.

“Through the years, Villareal Stadium is known for holding various sports and cultural activities as well as local and national events. It also served as the venue of the Western Visayas Regional Athletic Association (WVRAA) as well as other regional meets,” DPWH said.

The soon-to-rise building will serve to accommodate sporting events, cultural activities, and other local activities that could also be a channel on showcasing the Capizeños talents.

The construction of the building began last June 2021 and is expected to be completed by the third quarter of 2022 according to DPWH. – gb
