GENERAL SANTOS CITY – Joint anti-drug operatives have dismantled another alleged drug den and arrested seven suspected pushers and users in an operation at a housing village here late Tuesday (Nov. 2) night.

Katryn Gaye Abad, information officer of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Region 12, said on Wednesday (Nov. 3) the drug den was uncovered during an entrapment around 10:25 p.m. in a house in Purok 27, Yamvill 1, Barangay Mabuhay.

She said agents from the PDEA-12 special enforcement, Sultan Kudarat and Sarangani provincial offices, and the city police Station Number 4 launched the operation based on reports of illegal drug activities happening in the area.

It mainly targeted the alleged drug den maintainer identified as Rannie Fernandez alias “Yok-Yok,” 30, who sold a sachet of shabu worth P500 to an agent who posed as a buyer.

Abad said the team arrested six other persons who were found inside the house, which was reported to have been hosting drug sessions.

The six other suspects were identified as Diosdado Gatin, 41; Jean Aligan, 51; Janice Aligan, 25; Jaycris Aligan, 20; Alex Cannillas, 45; and, Victor Bautista, 50, all residents of this city.

Recovered at the scene were six sachets of suspected shabu weighing about 11 grams with an estimated market value of P74,800 and assorted drug paraphernalia used in selling and using illegal drugs.

“Our agents conducted a series of surveillance in the area prior to the operation and confirmed the illegal drug activities,” she told reporters.

PDEA-12 investigators are currently determining the source of the recovered shabu and other possible cohorts of the suspects.

Abad said cases for violation of Article II of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against the suspects, who are detained at the PDEA-12 custodial facility here. (PNA) – bny
