The Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC) and Bureau of Immigration (BI) held the ceremonial signing of the Anti-Corruption Manifesto during the launching of Project KASANGGA: Tokhang Kontra Korapsyon last May 26 via virtual convention.

PACC Chairman Greco Belgica reminded the public that public office is a public trust, and that the PACC wishes to commit to the President’s fight against corruption.

“We wish to remind everyone that public office is a public trust. I would like to reiterate our commitment to the president’s campaign in eliminating all forms of graft and corruption and abuse of power in all [government agencies], most especially at this time where our society is more vulnerable to corruption due to the ongoing health economic crisis,” Belgica said.

Belgica said that Project KASANGGA: Tokhang Kontra Korapsyon aims to make easier and faster the PACC’s coordination with government agencies with regards to President Duterte’s campaign against corruption.

“Project Kasangga is basically a call to arms. We hope to engage all different sectors of society to enjoin us in the fight against corruption. Under this project is the Tokhang Laban sa Korapsyon, a campaign led by PACC in cooperation with other agencies in the executive branch of government to ensure public accountability and good governance,” he said.

“One Strike policy lang po tayo sa PACC. Kaya kapag ikaw ay sangkot sa katiwalian at aming napatunayan na ikaw ay nangurakot, pasensyahan po tayo,” Belgica added.

Furthermore, the project aims to intensify the PACC’s campaign against graft and corruption in all levels of government; increase public awareness on the objectives, mandate, programs, and accomplishments of the commission; encourage people’s support and participation by providing them accessible avenue in reporting corrupt and anomalous activities by government officials and employees; provide meaningful change in the system by reporting high value and high impact’ cases of corruption to the Office of the President; and provide access in high risk agencies that are prone to corruption by creating an  agreement with said agencies.

“Imposible pong mawala ang lahat ng buwaya at lahat ng korakot. Ngunit gagawin po namin ang lahat ng aming makakaya upang mabawasan ng husto ang mga manloloko at korap, lalong-lalo na ngayon na nahihirapan ang ating ekonomiya,” Belgica said. -rir
