PACC: Over 12 congressmen involved in anomalies

The Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC) disclosed that more than 12 congressmen are involved in anomalies.

PACC Commissioner Greco Belgica stated that the number is based on the witnesses who reported to their agency.

“Iyong isa naming witness, sinabi niya hinihingian daw siya ng sampung porsyento ng congressman niyan. Nagagalit siya dahil sabi niya hindi naman kanya ‘yung pondo (One witness stated that he was asked by the congressman for a 10% [cut]. He was angry because the fund was not his).”

This is part of the report given to President Rodrigo R. Duterte but he refused to expose the names of the solons involved in corruption since it is not within his jurisdiction.

According to the PACC, it will recommend the matter to the Office of the Ombudsman and the Department of Justice (DOJ)’s Mega Task Force for investigation. The said departments will have a more thorough investigation. Concrete evidences are the basis in identifying the corrupt government officials. – Report from Patrick De Jesus
