‘Paeng’ leaves PAR

MANILA — Typhoon Paeng is now outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), the weather bureau said Saturday morning.

Even if the typhoon poses no direct effect in any part of the country, sea travel remains risky over the northern and eastern seaboards of Luzon, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) cautioned.

“Paeng” was last eyed 730 km. northeast of Basco, Batanes.

Meanwhile, localized thunderstorms will cause partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers over the whole country.

Strong to gale force winds will blow over the northern and eastern sections of Luzon. Coastal waters along these areas will be rough to very rough.

Moderate to strong winds will prevail over the eastern section of Visayas and Mindanao, where coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas, PAGASA said. (Ma. Cristina Arayata/PNA)
