PAF C-130 plane brings much-needed relief aid to Cebu

MANILA – The Philippine Air Force (PAF) announced that one of its Lockheed C-130 “Hercules” cargo planes have flown relief goods from Villamor Air Base, Pasay City to Benito Ebuen Air Base, Cebu on Sunday, Dec. 19.

“The PAF C-130 aircraft with tail number 5011 transported relief goods from Villamor Air Base, Pasay City to Brigadier General Benito N. Ebuen Air Base in Cebu on December 19, 2021,” Air Force spokesperson Lt. Col. Maynard Mariano said in a message to reporters late Sunday.

He added that two sorties were conducted where a total of 33,797 pounds of relief goods including tents, gallons of water, sacks of rice, toiletries, used clothes, canned goods, bottled water, and generator sets were transported.

“It will be distributed to those residents affected by Typhoon Odette in several parts of the Visayas region and Northern Mindanao,” Mariano said.

He also added that the PAF along with other local government agencies quickly responded to conduct search, rescue, and evacuation operations.

“Rest assured, the PAF will continue to perform Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Response operations as well as providing necessary airlift requirements and bring assistance to our fellow Filipinos in need,” Mariano said. (PNA) – bny
