MANILA — The low-pressure area located 1,510 kilometers east of Infanta, Quezon is expected to enter the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) on Tuesday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
In a weather forecast, PAGASA weather specialist Ariel Rojas said the LPA, which will be named “Karding”, is expected to “enter the PAR tomorrow (July 24)”.
He noted the weather system would turn into a tropical depression within the next 24-48 hours but will not make landfall in any part of the country.
Monsoon rains will also be experienced in Zambales, Bataan, Cavite, Batangas, Mindoro, and Palawan.
PAGASA cautioned of possible flooding and landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains in these areas.
Occasional rains, on the other hand, are forecast in Metro Manila, Ilocos region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Central Luzon, and Western Visayas.

PAGASA further said other parts of Luzon and eastern Visayas would have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms.

Temperature range of 19-34°C is forecast in the country until Friday.
On Monday, PAGASA recorded a peak temperature of 28.3°C and a minimum temperature of 24.5°C.
Based on a 24-hour monitor, the weather bureau recorded the highest amount of rainfall in Olongapo City with 436.4 mm of intense rainfall, while it recorded the least rainfall in Angeles City with 64 mm. (Juzel Danganan/PNA)
