PAGASA, NASA to launch ‘CAMPEX’ project

The Department of Science and Technology (DOST), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and U.S. Naval Research Laboratory have come together to investigate the the Philippine atmospheric condition under the the Cloud, Aerosol and Monsoon Processes Philippines Experiment (CAMP2Ex). According to the U.S. Embassy, two NASA research aircrafts are set to be deployed over seas surrounding Luzon particularly the Pacific Ocean where typhoons are usually formed. The study will be a big help in the country’s preparations in the face of extreme weather conditions and climate change.
