PAL starts Davao-Siargao flights on March 25

MANILA — Starting March 25, flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) will offer a four times weekly service between Davao and Siargao, the airline announced Monday afternoon.

Aside from eyeing Davao as a major hub in the coming years, the move also aims to support the Philippine government’s target to further promote top travel destinations in the southern part of the country. Siargao is considered the country’s international surfing capital.

In a statement, PAL senior vice president for Visayas and Mindanao Sales and Services Harry Inoferio noted that diving and surfing enthusiasts and sea lovers could also take the airline’s Manila-Davao, Cebu-Davao, and Clark-Davao routes to enjoy Davao first before heading to Siargao.

To further boost sales in this maiden route, an introductory fare of as low as PHP1,000-plus will be offered for round trip Davao-Siargao flights until April 15.

PAL said it would use its all-new Bombardier Q400 Next Generation aircraft for this route, which is expected to boost economic and tourism activities between the islands in Mindanao.

Meanwhile, starting March 25, PAL will also offer daily flights between Davao and Tagbilaran from the current four times weekly offering, it said. (Ma. Cristina Arayata/PNA)
