Malacañang on Tuesday commended the Bureau of Customs (BOC) for posting its highest monthly revenue collection to date at P95.848 billion in July, calling it a reflection of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive to prioritize economic growth and strengthen public services.
Based on preliminary figures, the latest amount exceeded BOC’s collection goal of P91.526 billion by P4.322 billion, or 4.7%, and was 12.5 percent higher than the P85.18 billion collected in July 2025.
The record July performance also raised BOC’s cumulative collections from the first seven months of the year to P587.711 billion, compared to the P543.951 billion collected in January-July 2025—making it also the highest ever recorded for the same period.
“Sinasalamin ng record-breaking revenue collection na ito ang puspusang trabaho ng kawanihan upang masiguro na angkop ang revenue collection measures ng bansa,” Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said in a press briefing Tuesday.
Castro noted that the record BOC collection not only exceeded revenue targets but also generated additional funds to support the priority programs of the Marcos Jr. administration.
“Malaki ang parteng ginagampanan ng epektibong revenue collection sa kapakanan ng bawat Pilipino dahil bawat piso na nakokolekta ay napupunta sa priority programs and projects ng pamahalaan, mga proyektong may direktang benepisyo sa taumbayan,” she said.
According to Castro, BOC’s revenue collections, which are remitted to the national treasury, support infrastructure projects, such as schools, hospitals, roads, and bridges, as well as social welfare programs and disaster response efforts.
In a news release Monday, BOC Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno attributed the strong collection performance to the agency’s ongoing reforms, including enhanced customs procedures, intensified border protection measures, digital transformation initiatives, and closer collaboration with stakeholders.
He also hailed the “hard work and dedication of the men and women of the Bureau of Customs across the country.”
“Malaking karangalan para sa BOC na makapagtala ng pinakamataas na buwanang koleksyon at pinakamataas na January to July collections sa kasaysayan nito. These achievements show that our reforms, modernization efforts, and stronger collaboration with stakeholders are delivering meaningful results,” Nepomuceno said.
“As we build on this momentum, we remain committed to collecting lawful revenues, facilitating legitimate trade, and supporting the vision of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. for a stronger economy and better opportunities for every Filipino,” the BOC chief added.
