Palace calls for swift passage of 2018 National Budget

MANILA — Presidential Spokesperson Ernesto Abella relayed Malacañang’s call for the swift passage of the 2018 National Budget following its transmittal to the Senate.

“We hope that the Senate can swiftly approve its own version of the proposed bill on the National Budget so that our lawmakers can start working to harmonize their versions of the bill when the Bicameral Conference Committee is convened,” Abella said in a press briefing.

President Duterte submitted to Congress the proposed PHP3.767-trillion budget last July 24, during his second State of the Nation Address. The proposed 2018 national budget is 12.4 percent higher than this year’s national budget. (PND/PNA)
