Palace ensures proper transition to the next admin

While waiting for the official proclamation for the next president of the Philippines, Malacañang assured that the current administration is ensuring the proper transition to the next administration.

President Rodrigo Duterte has already signed on May 10 the Administrative Order No. 47 creating a Presidential Transition Committee (PTC), to be chaired by Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea.

The transition committee mandates all departments, bureaus and instrumentalities of the government to create their own internal transition committees to support the PTC to properly pass the Duterte administration’s projects to the next administration.

Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr., Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez III, Budget Undersecretary Tina Rose Marie Canda, and Socioeconomic Planning Secretary Karl Chua will be part of the transition committee.

The following are the functions of the PTC, as shared by acting presidential spokesperson Martin Andanar:

  • Overall and central coordination committee of all executive departments, agencies, bureaus, government-owned and controlled corporations and other instrumentalities of the government relative to the transition to the new administration
  • Overseer of the preparation and implementation of the respective transition activities of all government agencies, to ensure continuity and maintain the efficiency of government services;
  • Other functions the President may direct

– ag
