Palace on PNP, PDEA shooting: Justice will prevail

Malacañang assured that the investigation on the shooting incident between the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) will be fair.

According to Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, President Rodrigo R. Duterte is saddened by the incident and wondered how the two law enforcement agencies ended up in an unfortunate event.

“The President, of course, expressed both sadness and concern, bakit nangyari nga ito na kapwa tao ng gobyerno ay nagkaputukan. Ang in-assure niya, kagaya ng assurance na ginawa niya noong nangyari ito sa Sulu, ay we will go again to the bottom of this incident. Magkakaroon po ng impartial investigation and justice will be done. (The President, of course, expressed both sadness and concern, why did two government agencies exchange fire. He gave the same assurance he made on the incident in Sulu that we will get to the bottom of this incident. There will be an impartial investigation and justice will be done).”

Malacañang is optimistic that the truth behind the incident will be revealed through the investigation of the PNP, PDEA, and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).
