Palace orders reduced capacity of gov’t workplaces

The Office of the President on Friday directed the reduction of physical workplace operational capacity of all government offices in areas under general community quarantine from March 22 to April 4, 2021 due to the increase in the number of COVID-19 cases.

The Department of Health (DOH) on Friday, March 19, recorded the highest number of COVID-19 cases at 7,103 since the beginning of the pandemic and a year after the implementation of lockdowns.

All offices including government-owned and controlled corporations are ordered to follow a “30% up to a maximum of 50% operational capacity” within the said period. Alternative work arrangements are still encouraged to ensure unhampered services.

Based on Memorandum Circular No. 85, some adjustments will be considered in offices needing higher capacity such as health and emergency frontline services.

The directive will be in effect despite a new quarantine classification for the month of April which is expected to be issued later this month.– AG,PTV News Online#
