Palace says PRRD not yet endorsing any prexy bet

Malacañang on Tuesday (March 8) reiterated President Rodrigo Duterte’s previous statement that he is not yet supporting any presidential candidate in the May 9 elections this year.

Acting presidential spokesperson and Communications Secretary Martin Andanar made the statement during his first Palace briefing, following Duterte’s remarks in Ilocos last week on selecting an Ilocano leader.

“The President has repeatedly said that he does not support any candidate unless there is a compelling reason,” Andanar said.

“Doon sa interview na ginawa natin with the President, he clearly said he may or he may not. Hintayin na lang natin ang magiging desisyon ng ating mahal na Pangulo. Kung ano man ang sinabi ng Presidente sa Ilocos – you know the President likes to play with words and he likes to horse around,” he added.

Duterte has said in his previous speeches that he prefers to stay neutral in the meantime. AG-rir
