Palace understands Trump’s decision on temporary immigration suspension

Malacañang respects the decision of US President Donald Trump to impose a temporary immigration suspension in the United States of America (USA).

While they are aware that many Filipinos want to take their chances in America, Roque expressed understanding on the decision of the American president.

“Eh talagang desisyon po yan ng Amerika, kung sino gusto nila papasukin, respetuhin na lang po natin ‘yan. In the same way na ayaw naman natin na manghimasok sila sa desisyon natin kung ano ‘yung mga magiging desisyon natin (That’s America’s decision on who can enter their country, let us respect that. In the same way, we do not want them to meddle in our decisions),” Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said.

The directive is part of the US measures amid the COVID-19 pandemic to prioritize American citizens in terms of employment and medical resources. – Report from Mela Lesmoras
