Pampanga among world’s ‘unsung food destinations’

Pampanga, the country’s culinary capital, has been recognized as among the world’s “unsung food destinations,” according to a travel magazine.

Conde Nast Traveler described Pampanga as “one of the country’s most exciting and consistent foodie scenes.”

Among the province’s most famous dishes cited were morcon (braised meat roll), tocino (sweet cured pork), sisig (traditionally prepared with minced pork face), and buro (fermented rice prepared with sauteed shrimp).

Other “unsung food destinations” mentioned in the magazine are San Jose, Costa Rica; Nazareth, Israel; South Downs, United Kingdom; Greenland; Valley of the Vineyards, Brazil; Belize; and Talad Noi, Bangkok. –ag
