CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — The provincial government of Pampanga on Wednesday distributed 16 service vehicles to the Public School District Supervisors (PSDS) here intended for their official school monitoring and activities.
Acting Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda led the initial distribution of 16 Mitsubishi L300 service vehicles worth PHP11,520,000 or PHP720, 000 each.
Pineda, in his message, reminded school supervisors to take good care of the vehicles which could help in the operations of the learning facilities in their respective districts.
He said the school vehicles should not be used for personal or family business and activities of the supervisors, principals and teachers.
He said these are mainly intended for official school activities and events such as trainings, seminars, executive meetings, conventions and other events.
“However, you can also use the school vehicles for emergency situations such as needing medical or hospital assistance and intervention,” Pineda told the supervisors.
Francis Maslog, officer-in-charge of the General Services Office, said the initial beneficiaries of the school vehicles are as follows: Porac East District, Porac West District, Arayat East District, Arayat West District, Candaba East District, Candaba West District, Candaba North District, Mexico South District, San Luis District, Sta. Ana District, Sasmuan District, Sta. Rita District, Apalit District, Minalin District, San Simon District and Sto. Tomas District.
Maslog said that more school vehicles are set for distribution upon the completion of requirements by the respective school district supervisors.
Madilyn V. Ayson, PSDS of Candaba North District, said they will use the vehicles for school monitoring within the district and attending different school contests.
“Of course, like what the acting governor is telling us, we will use the vehicles in case of emergencies such as bringing the sick teachers, students or the school clienteles to hospitals when the need arises,” Ayson said.
Ayson said on behalf of the PSDS led by Dr. Leonardo Zapanta, Pampanga provincial school superintendent, they would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the provincial government led by Governor Lilia Pineda and Acting Governor Dennis Pineda for their utmost concern to the plight of the public schools in the province.
Ayson said that in her district, they will collect PHP500 from each school’s local school funds for the gasoline and maintenance of the brand new vehicle for the first month and PHP300 for the succeeding months.
She also said they have an agreement with the local government unit that the latter will shoulder the monthly allowance of the driver, chargeable against the barangay aid fund of the municipal government.
