Pampanga’s CoVID-19 cases climb to 3, 1 dead

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO—Three confirmed cases of CoVID-19 have been recorded in Pampanga and one of them has died last March 11, Governor Dennis Pineda said on Saturday.

The first known patient, named as PAMP 1, is a GRAB driver plying the Clark Freeport and Pampanga routes. He is confined in a Metro Manila hospital. His family resides in Porac town.
PAMP 2 worshipped in a prayer room in San Juan and was exposed to one confirmed case. PAMP 2 is now confined, quarantined and being treated at the Jose B. Lingad Memorial Regional Hospital, a facility managed by the Department of Health.

PAMP 3 was reported by a private hospital in the City of San Fernando through an official statement released on Saturday. Admitted on March 9, he died on March 11 but the test results confirmed the infection on the night of March 13. The hospital assured it has been taking infection control. PAMP 3’s neighbor has history of travel to Singapore .

Governor Pineda said those who came in contact with these persons are being traced by the Provincial Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit.

“I am appealing to my kabalen who had recent travels abroad and who showed symptoms of CoVID-19 to come to me and seek my help,” he said.

The governor has called the Pampanga Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council to an emergency meeting on Monday to be able to obtain its approval for him to request the Sangguniang Panlalawigan to place Pampanga in
a state of calamity.

“Please remain calm. Stay at home as much as possible,” he said.
