Pangasinan police nabs more smoking ban violators

LINGAYEN, Pangasinan — Seven smoking ban violators have been arrested in different towns and cities in the province by the police on Sunday.

Arrested violators were identified as Alejandro Salazar of Pozorrubio; Glenn Xander Ilagan of Malasiqui; Jomar Cos, Jun Ferrer and Mark Maasibag from Mangaldan; and Marvin Perez and Mike Christopher Sanchez from San Manuel.

A total of 48 violators here have been arrested since President Rodrigo Duterte signed the Executive Order No. 26, the nationwide smoking ban in public areas, in May last year.

Other smoking ban violators are from Bolinao, 12; Pozorrubio, nine; San Fabian, nine; Basista, five; Villasis, three; and Mangaldan, three.

Violators have been fined PHP1,000 or required to perform community service. (Hilda Austria/PNA)
