Pangasinan Police is PH’s most outstanding provincial station

LINGAYEN, Pangasinan — The Pangasinan Police Provincial Office (PPO) attributed its Police Community Relations (PCR) Outstanding Police Provincial Office national level award to the good relationship between the community and the lawmen.

Chief Insp. Norman Florentino, this year’s Outstanding PCR Junior Police Commissioned Officer (national level), disclosed that the good relationship of the police and the community was made possible by the active information drive of PPO on Facebook, radio and other media platforms.

“We have organized posting of accomplishments of the stations and other relevant information on Facebook, and we also have various programs and projects for all sectors of the community, so that we could draw the community to us,” he said.

Florentino noted that some of the projects of PPO are unique and implemented only in the province, such as the “Post ko, like mo, share mo” on Facebook and the organizing of Salaam Police Volunteers, where Muslims are a part of.

PPO also has a radio program called the Usapang Pulis, where listeners could ask guest police officers anything related to law enforcement.

Meanwhile, the “Dugong Pulis” program conducts bloodletting activities participated in by the province’s police men and women.

Florentino vowed to sustain the programs and projects that have helped them win the award and to establish new ones for the good of the communities in Pangasinan.

“We thank God, our families and the policemen and policewomen who never get tired of serving our citizens,” he said.

Meanwhile, Senior Superintendent Wilson Lopez, acting police provincial director, said during a recent Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster sa Pilipinas forum in Pangasinan, that the support of the media also plays a significant role in the Police Community Relations of the entire province.

Other awardees from the province are Senior Superintendent Ronald Lee, who is this year’s Outstanding Senior Police Commissioned Officer (regional level) and SPO3 Reggie Fernandez of the Alaminos City Police as Outstanding PCR Senior Police Non-Commissioned Officer of the Year (regional level).

The Dagupan City Police Station, on the other hand, is outstanding city police station in the regional level.

The awarding was held on Monday as the culminating activity of the 23rd Police Community Relations Month celebration in Camp Crame, Metro Manila and at Camp Brigadier General Oscar Florendo in San Fernando City, La Union. (Hilda Austria/PNA)
