LINGAYEN, Pangasinan — Pangasinenses will enjoy the music, lights and display of different countries’ Christmas theme as the offices within the capitol grounds here will turn into a Christmas village starting November 28.

Provincial Tourism Officer Ma. Luisa Elduayan, in an interview Friday, said their program called “Paskoan ed Kapitolyo” will be the opening of Christmas celebration in the province, as well as the launching of the centennial anniversary of the provincial capitol building.

“On November 28 at 5 p.m., there will be the lighting of the province’s Christmas tree, the nativity scene, and the whole of the capitol grounds, including some provincial offices and the national government agencies’ offices. Christmas songs will also be played,” Elduayan said.

She added some of the offices within the capitol grounds will be decorated portraying the Christmas celebration of other countries.

Pangasinenses and tourists will also enjoy different shows like the Kidyam Music and Light show in front of the capitol building, drum and bugle and orchestra presentations on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Aside from the lights and music shows, a mini trade fair or the Christmas bazaar will also be opened, where people can buy food and non-food items, she added.

Meanwhile, Elduayan asked the public to practice cleanliness within the vicinity of the capitol grounds when they visit.

“We urge them to bring home their garbage or throw these in proper garbage bins. We ask them to help us maintain the cleanliness in the capitol grounds and even at the beach area,” she said.

The Christmas display at the capitol will be until Jan.2 next year, while the centennial anniversary celebration of the capitol building will be on Dec.15, which will feature the third Kidyam Pang-awaran, a lights and music show projecting a video on the capitol building about the history of the edifice.

“We invite everybody to come and join us. This is for the family and everyone who wants to celebrate Christmas with us,” Elduayan said.
