CALASIAO, Pangasinan — The Calasiao Municipal Police Station is this year’s nationwide BGen Rafael T. Crame Balangay Awards-Best Municipal Police Station grand winner for implementing successful programs in the grassroots level.

“The BGen Rafael T. Crame Balangay award is one of the prestigious, most coveted awards from the Philippine National Police (PNP), so we are greatly honored to be awarded the grand winner. I congratulate all of our police force here,” the officer in charge of the Calasiao Police Office, Supt. Franklin Ortiz, said in an interview.

Ortiz said the award could boost the morale of the policemen and policewomen of the station.

“This recognition will surely lift the spirits of the police as we work tirelessly to fulfill our commitment of fighting criminality and wiping out illegal drugs in the municipality while at the same time creating harmonious and effective police community partnership in the maintenance of peace and order and public safety,” he added.

Ortiz, together with Calasiao town mayor Joseph Arman Bauzon, received PHP400,000 from the Public Safety Savings and Loan Association Inc. and a trophy on February 11.

In a statement, the Calasiao Municipal Police Station said it was accorded with recognition for its support and contribution in the implementation of the PNP’s programs and thrusts, with “their influence most palpable at the grassroots, the barangays”.

The station has also bested other police stations in the country “for the engrossment in creating a noticeable good image of the PNP in the eyes of the general public; and in strengthening a positive public perception in the aim of espousing the Pulis na Respetado, Responsable at Disiplinado: The involvement in strengthening the morale of men and women in uniform in the performance of their sworn duties; and in their exceptional commitment in creating harmonious and effective police community partnership in the maintenance of peace and order and public safety”.
