Pangasinan’s Bayambang town declared drug-free

BAYAMBANG, Pangasinan — The municipality of Bayambang is the latest town in Pangasinan declared as drug- free by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) on Friday.

Police Chief Inspector Norman Florentino, chief of the community relations officer of the Pangasinan Police Provincial Office (PPPO), said Bayambang is the 20th municipality in the province declared as free from illegal drugs.

Furthermore, he said the municipality of Mangatarem is also set to be declared drug-free on March 10, Rosales on March 13 and Labrador on March 16.

Florentino said Urdaneta City and Calasiao already have drug-free certifications from the police but are waiting for PDEA’s declaration, while 10 more towns and cities are under validation.

Alaminos City is the first city of Pangasinan declared as drug- free while Sto. Tomas is the only town in the province not infected by illegal drugs. (PNA)
