President Rodrigo Duterte forewarned the Maynilad Water Services Inc. and Manila Water Company, Inc. of possible military takeover of the water supply in Metro Manila in the event of their exit from the undertaking. President Spokesperson Salvador Panelo earlier stated that the Malacañan was perturbed by the water providers’ threat of potential 100% water price hike following the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System’s cancellation of the contracts with them.
