PANOORIN: 2nd regular session ng 19th Congress, opisyal nang nagbukas

Opisyal na ngang nagbukas ngayong Lunes ng umaga, ika-24 ng Hulyo, ang sesyon sa Senado para sa ikalawang regular session ng 19th Congress.

Pinangunahan ni Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri ang opening kung saan ibinida niya ang mga batas na naipasa ng Senado sa nakalipas na sesyon. 

May kabuuang 23 senador ang dumalo sa unang araw ng ikalawang regular session.

Hindi nakadalo si Sen. Pia Cayetano na kasalukuyang naging head ng delegasyon ng Philippine women’s national football team sa FIFA Women’s World Cup na ginaganap sa New Zealand at Australia. 

Sa speech ni Zubiri, inilatag niya ang mga panukalang batas na tatargetin nilang maipasa, tulad ng panukala para sa Ease of Paying Taxes, pagbuo ng Center for Disease Prevention and Control, at pagpapaigting ng batas laban sa smuggling.

Nais din ng mga senador na magkaroon ng batas pantugon sa seafarers, mas maraming trabaho, at pagpapataas ng suweldo.

Susundan naman ito mamayang hapon ng State of the Nation Address ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. sa Batasang Pambansa.
