MANILA — Papua New Guinea Prime Minister Peter O’Neill will be making an official visit to the Philippines on May 15-17, Malacañang said Tuesday.

In a press briefing, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque described O’Neill’s visit as “an important opportunity” for the Philippines to reaffirm and further strengthen the friendly and cooperative ties with Papua New Guinea.

He further said that the Philippines is ready to work with Papua New Guinea towards achieving inclusive growth.

“With other similar histories and shared aspirations for greater peace, progress and prosperity for our peoples and region, the Philippine stands ready to work with Papua New Guinea for the mutual benefit and sustainable and inclusive growth of our nations,” Roque said. (Azer Parrocha/PNA)
