MANILA — The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Tuesday announced that Ozamiz City Vice Mayor Nova Princess, her brother Reynaldo, Jr., and 11 other suspects tested negative for drug use.
This was bared by Supt. Ramos Bergonio, PNP Crime Laboratory operations head, in a press briefing Tuesday.
The Misamis Occidental Provincial Crime Laboratory Office (MOPCLO) performed the drug tests shortly after the operation at the residence of the clan in Barangay San Roque, Ozamiz City which resulted in the death of Mayor Reynaldo Parojing, Sr., wife Susan and 13 others last July 30.
President Rodrigo Duterte tagged the elder Parojinog as one of the many narco-politicians operating in the country.
“Upon arrival at the crime scene, the SOCO (Scene-of-the-Crime Operatives) team headed by Insp. Geraldine Abalde coordinated with the investigator-on-case for the counduct of crime scene processing.
“Based from the reports of the MOPCLO, the living persons of Reynaldo Engracia Parojinog Jr.; Vice-Mayor Nova Princess Parojinog; 11 other suspects were subjected to drug test examination,” he added.
Urine samples taken from Nova and her brother tested negative for the presence of methamphetamine and THC metabolites, both dangerous drugs.
The 11 other suspects were identified as Lucky Lou Bendong, Cristofel V. Margasa, Juan Segismundo, Robles, Federico Manon-og, Lolito Jamago, Marcilito Bitonio, Nicolas Alburo, Jonard Arciaga and Manuel Paran.
But PNP spokesperson Chief Supt. Dionardo Carlos said the drug results will not have any implications on the illegal possessions of firearm and drug cases filed against the Parojinog siblings. (PNA)
