Partylist vows impartial probe on punching incident involving nominee

The Ang Probinsyano Partylist today said it will not tolerate any abuse of authority even among its nominees and vowed to investigate the alleged punching incident involving its s first nominee, Alfred Delos Santos at a diner in Legaspi City.

Ang Probinsyano Partylist spokesman Atty. Joco Sabio said that their party is now conducting its own  impartial probe on what really took place at a diner in Legaspi City last July 7.

According to reports, Delos Santos punched a service crew identified as Christian Kent Alejo, 20 while he and his friends were dining.

“Definitely we will not tolerate any kind of abuse in our party. We will not hesitate to suspend or even remove Congressman Delos Santos if we establish that this was an unprovoked attack,” Sabio said.

“Just like everyone else, the party is concerned and really disappointed with what happened. We are not taking this sitting down and we are taking all the necessary steps to that this will not happen again in the future,” Sabio added.

Sabio noted however stressed that Delos Santos still deserves to be given the chance to explain himself so that the party can fairly decide on what course of action it would take.

” Despite all the flak that our party is getting because of this incident, we will still accord Rep. Delos Santos the right to due process,” Sabio said.

” I would like to make it very clear however that Rep. Delos Santos is our nominee but he is not the entire representation of the Ang Probinsyano Partylist.  His actions and his decisions are his own and should not reflect on Ang Probinsyano as a party and as an organization,” Sabio stressed.
