The Pasay City General Hospital (PCGH) will not be taking in new patients starting Tuesday, Aug. 17, after reaching full capacity.
“Ikinalulungkot po naming ipaalam sa lahat na ang ating Pasay City General Hospital ay pansamantalang hindi muna makakatanggap ng mga pasyente simula Aug. 17, 2021 dahil sumobra na po ang kapasidad ng mga kama na maaaring gamitin ng mga pasyente sa ICU, emergency room, at COVID-19 ward,” the PCGH said in a statement released on Wednesday (Aug. 18).
“We truly know that this will pose a problem for everyone, but we cannot go beyond our capacity to manage COVID-19 cases as this may also compromise our services for our non-COVID-19 patients,” the hospital explained.
The PCGH added that they will be giving updates on the status of their COVID-19 bed occupancy. They will send out an advisory once they can resume accepting COVID-19 patients.
“Antabayanan po natin ang susunod na anunsyo kung kailan maaari nang muling tumangap ng pasyente ang ating ICU, emergency room at COVID-19 ward,” it said
“Sa kasalukuyan, mabisa pa rin pong pag-iwas at pag-iingat ang pananatili sa loob ng ating mga tahanan at patuloy na pagsasagawa ng EMI Habit,” it added.
Meanwhile, the PCGH has also temporarily closed its Obstetrics and Gynecology services until Aug. 26 following the significant number of medical workers who have been infected by COVID-19 and who have a history of high-risk exposure.
“Services will resume on Aug. 27 if the repeat swab tests of exposed residents will turn out negative, otherwise closure will extend until Aug. 30,” the hospital said.
In the meantime, the hospital’s OB-GYN medical specialists will facilitate discharges of the remaining patients at the wards.
“We would like to apologize for the inconvenience that this unforeseen event might have brought but rest assured that once our medical personnel have been cleared for work, we will resume our services,” it added.
