Pasig allocates ₱300M for COVID-19 vaccination

The City Government of Pasig has allocated ₱300 million for COVID-19 vaccines in case they become available in the country this year.

Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto said in the Laging Handa Public Briefing on Monday that the local government is preparing for the city-wide vaccination and that coordination with the Department of Health (DOH) and the National Inter-Agency Task Force (NIATF) is ongoing.
“Kaya nating dagdagan kung may available na supplies at may mabibili pa ang lokal na pamahalaan. Uunahin natin ang medical frontliners (We can still add more if there are still available supplies and if there are still vaccines that the local government can buy. We will prioritize medical frontliners),” Sotto assured.

The list of priority beneficiaries of the vaccination program has already been laid out which also includes senior citizens who are considered vulnerable to the disease.

Meanwhile, the city is also building one-stop shops for businesses to prevent the congestion in the processing of documents.
“Ilang buwan na namin itong pinagsisikapan na talagang ayusin, i-streamline ang mga proseso, bawasan ang red tape to increase the ease of doing business (We have been striving to fix this for months, streamline processes, and cut red tape to increase the ease of doing business),” Sotto stated.

“Mayroon kaming isang committee na ito lang ang tinututukan para maging business-friendly kami sa Pasig (We have a committee that focuses specifically on this matter so Pasig could become business-friendly),” he added. – Report from Kenneth Paciente
