MANILA – Global payments leader PayPal has set its sights on creating more than 1,000 jobs in the next two years with the opening of its new office here.

PayPal announced Monday that it is opening a new global customer operations center in Alabang within this year, which is poised to be the company’s largest and first consolidated operations site in the country.

The new hub will cater to English-speaking markets including North America, Australia, and United Kingdom.

“The level of service and hires in the Philippines has always been exceptional—with high English proficiency and a strong pool of experienced customer service professionals, PayPal Global Customer Services and Country Site Lead John Nicholls said.

“These are exactly the type of people we are looking for to join PayPal, as we expand our customer service offerings, providing multi-channel and higher quality support for PayPal customers worldwide,” Nicholls added.

Aside from its customer service business, the Alabang office will also house recruitment and training support functions.

“At the heart of our operations is the commitment to instill a sense of ownership among our employees. This is true no matter where we establish operations across the globe,” Nicholls said.

“By providing our local tams with consistent training, mentoring and leadership, we are investing in their professional development and in a better service experience for our customers,” he added.
