PBA summons Tolentino, Jose after verbal spat in Governors’ Cup finals

The Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) is evaluating the skirmish between Barangay Ginebra San Miguel wingman Arvin Tolentino and Meralco Bolts backup forward Raymar Jose.

The commotion happened in the dying seconds of Meralco’s 104-91 game one win of the Governors’ Cup finals Wednesday (April 6) at the Araneta Coliseum.

Tolentino committed a hard foul against Jose, causing a heated exchange between the two former Far Eastern University standouts where they were both charged with technical fouls.

The spat, however, continued outside the court with the two crossing paths anew in the tunnel leading to the dugout.

According to PBA Commissioner Willie Marcial, he will summon Tolentino and Jose before game two unfolds tomorrow.

“Re-reviewhin namin ngayon tapos ‘papatawag ko bukas before the game,” Marcial said.

The ongoing review will determine whether the pair will be slapped with suspensions or fines. – report from Sabel Reyes/ML-gb
