PBA: TNT ends elims with rout of Ginebra

TNT Tropang Giga capped its PBA Philippine Cup with a 106-92 drubbing of Barangay Ginebra on Sunday, July 10, in the second game at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

TNT bounced back from a 99-115 loss to the San Miguel Beermen on Thursday to end its PH cup campaign with an 8-3 win-loss card.

“We’re going for 9-2 but we fell short by one win. We have to be ready for the best-of-three if we don’t make the Top Two,” TNT coach Chot Reyes said via the PBA website.

“We’re beaten by San Miguel by 15, and we wanted to go over 15 points as well. We could’ve stopped playing, but the format is such that every point counts,” he added.

RR Pogoy led TNT with 30 points while Mikey Williams chipped in 19 markers.

Japeth Aguilar led the Kings with 18 points followed by LA Tenorio and Christian Standhardinger who had 15 markers each. bny
